2010: In January 2010, Playtech sealed a key strategic partnership with US-based Scientific Games. The partnership is comprised of an exclusive Joint Venture called Sciplay, bringing next generation internet products and services to the lottery industry. It also consists of an exclusive agreement for Playtech's Videobet to develop gaming terminal software for Scientific Games and its subsidiary The Global Draw.
In February 2010, Playtech acquired the business and assets of Virtue Fusion, the leading developer and licensor of online bingo products. Playtech now offer the largest bingo network in the world, with over 7,000 players at peak time. Shortly after the acquisition, Playtech signed an agreement with Boylesports, Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker, to provide them with its online bingo solution.
Further developments for Playtech’s bingo product saw the release of a bingo network for the newly-regulated Italian market, with one of the leading local operators the first licensee to join the network.
Following a major agreement with SEGA Games Ltd, Playtech will supply both casino and poker products for their online operations.
2009: Playtech continued to expand and penetrate the newly regulated markets, with a licensing agreement to supply casino and poker products to Casino Gran Madrid (CGM), one of the largest and most prestigious land-based gaming operators in Europe. Other notable successes include an online casino in Estonia operated by Olympic, the leading casino group in Eastern Europe, and a poker network and casino operated by the Serbian State Lottery. The Company established a poker network for the Italian market. Operators include Snai SpA Italy’s leading land based operator; Eurobet Italia s.p.A the Italian and international sportsbook owned by Gala Coral Group; Sisal SpA, a leading Italian land-based and online gaming company and Cogetech, which provides sports betting "white label" solutions to a variety industry-leading Italian and international operators.
A licensing agreement with NetPlay TV, the AIM-listed interactive TV gambling specialist, migrated all of NetPlay TV’s brands from their current software providers onto Playtech’s online system. 2009 saw the start of the William Hill Online joint venture operations, with migration completed in October. Playtech also signed a licensing agreement with Betfair, one of the largest operators in the UK.
